About WordPress Export

WordPress itself is free. The headaches aren't. Hosting runs $5 to $30 a month. Then there's updates, WordPress core, your theme, plugins. Skip a few updates and you're looking at security holes. There's a reason WordPress sites get hacked so often.

For sites that don't change much, all that infrastructure is overkill. A brochure site doesn't need a database. A portfolio doesn't need PHP. You're maintaning a whole server stack to display some text and pictures.

Static HTML fixes this. No database means nothing to hack. No PHP means nothing to exploit. No plugins means nothing to update. Just files on a server.

Our tool handles the conversion. Give us the URL, we render every page, save the output. Works with any theme, we're not interpreting WordPress code, just capturing what the browser sees.

The performance difference is real. WordPress pages run database queries on every load. Static files just... serve. Your site will feel noticeably faster.

Hosting options open up too. GitHub Pages is free. Cloudflare Pages is free. AWS S3 costs pennies. Or keep using traditional hosting, it'll handle way more traffic when it's just serving files.

You lose comments, contact forms, and anything dynamic. But there are third-party solutions for those. Disqus for comments. Formspree for forms. Sometimes simpler is better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will plugins still work?

What about WordPress.com sites?

Yes, our tool works with both WordPress.com hosted sites and self-hosted WordPress.org installations.
