Export WordPress to HTML

WordPress itself is free. The headaches aren't. Hosting runs $5 to $30 a month. Then there's updates, WordPress core, your theme, plugins. Skip a few updates and you're looking at security holes. There's a reason WordPress sites get hacked so often.

For sites that don't change much, all that infrastructure is overkill. A brochure site doesn't need a database. A portfolio doesn't need PHP. You're maintaning a whole server stack to display some text and pictures.

Static HTML fixes this. No database means nothing to hack. No PHP means nothing to exploit. No plugins means nothing to update. Just files on a server.

You lose comments, contact forms, and anything dynamic. But there are third-party solutions for those. Disqus for comments. Formspree for forms. Sometimes simpler is better.
