Export Wix Transaction Fees to HTML

Every time someone buys from your Wix store, fees happen. Let's clarify exactly what you're paying and to whom.

Wix Payments, their built-in processor, charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. This is standard credit card processing, same rate as Stripe or PayPal.

On a $100 sale, that's $3.20 in fees. Sell $5,000/month and you're paying $175 just in processing. It adds up.

Here's what confuses people: Wix itself doesn't take a commission on Business plans. The 2.9% goes to payment processing, not to Wix as a platform fee.

Compare to Etsy, which charges listing fees plus a 6.5% transaction fee plus payment processing. Or eBay with final value fees up to 13%. Wix's fee structure is actually simpler.

But you still pay your monthly Wix plan on top of transaction fees. Business at $36/month plus payment processing. That's the total cost of selling.

Want to use a different payment processor? Wix supports alternatives. PayPal Commerce: ~2.9% + $0.49. Stripe: 2.9% + $0.30. Square: 2.9% + $0.30. You're not escaping fees by switching, you're just choosing your provider.

International transactions cost more. Cross-border fees add 1-1.5% depending on processor. Currency conversion adds another fee. Selling globally gets expensive.

One thing Wix doesn't charge: bandwidth or transaction limits on Business plans. Some platforms charge extra when you exceed threshholds. Wix doesn't nickel-and-dime on volume.

The real question: are you selling enough to justify the platform cost?

At $36/month, you need consistent sales to make the math work. If you're selling sporadically, simpler solutions, Gumroad, Ko-fi, Stripe Payment Links, might cost less overall.

Know your numbers. Track fees per sale and monthly platform costs. Then decide if Wix is actually the cheapest path.
