Export Wix SEO to HTML

It's gotten better. Still not great.

Wix used to be an SEO disaster. All-Flash sites that Google couldn't read. URL structures like wixsite.com/mysite#!page-1/c1abc. No meta tags. No sitemaps. People avoided Wix specifically because of SEO.

Speed. Wix sites are slow. Not by accident, by architecture. Every page loads their JavaScript framework, tracking code, and editor infrastructure. A simple page with text and a few images weighs 2-4MB. That's massive.

Core Web Vitals hate this. Largest Contentful Paint suffers. Time to Interactive drags. Google ranks page experience now, and Wix pages deliver a mediocre experience by default.

Then there's JavaScript rendering. Wix sites rely heavily on client-side JavaScript. Google's crawler can handle JavaScript... eventually. But there's a two-wave indexing process. First pass sees raw HTML. Second pass renders JS. That second wave has a queue. Your content might take days or weeks to fully index.

For competitive keywords, that delay costs rankings. A static HTML site gets indexed immediately. Content is visible in the source code. No rendering required.

Wix also limits technical SEO control. You can't edit robots.txt directly. Server response headers are whatever Wix decides. Advanced schema markup needs workarounds. If you're doing serious SEO, you hit walls.
