Export What is Wix ADI to HTML

Wix ADI stands for Artificial Design Intelligence. It's Wix's attempt to build websites automatically so you don't have to.

The pitch is appealing: answer some questions, maybe connect your Google Business Profile or Facebook page, and ADI spits out a ready-made website. No dragging, no dropping, no design decisions. Just a functioning site in minutes.

And it works. Sort of.

ADI sites are fine. They're functional, mobile-responsive, and look professional in a generic way. For someone who needs any website right now, a contractor who just needs phone number and service list visible, ADI delivers.

The problems start when you want more.

Customization is limited. ADI's editor is stripped down compared to the regular Wix editor. You can change colors, swap images, edit text. But layout changes? Advanced design work? You'll hit "you can't do that" walls constantly.

The "solution" is switching to the full Wix Editor. Click a button and your ADI site converts to a regular Wix site with full editing capabilities. But here's the catch, it's one-way. No going back to ADI's simpler interface. And the converted site often has quirks from the ADI generation that make it harder to edit than starting fresh would've been.

Then there's the sameness problem. ADI sites look... ADI. The AI plays it safe, using proven layouts and predictable design patterns. Visit five ADI-generated restaurant sites and they'll feel eerily similar. That's fine for some businesses. It's a dealbreaker for others.

Content quality varies wildly. If ADI can pull from existing sources, your Google listing, social pages, maybe a previous website, it'll populate real information. If not, you get placeholder text that you'll replace anyway. The time savings evaporate.

And of course, it's still Wix. Your ADI site lives on Wix servers. No export option. Monthly fees forever. All the platform lock-in problems apply regardless of how the site was created.

ADI makes sense for one scenario: you need literally anything online immediately and plan to rebuild properly later. As a long-term solution? You'll outgrow it fast.
