Time for an honest comparison. Here's what each major platform actually offers, and what they don't tell you.

Wix: $17-159/month. Easiest drag-and-drop editor. Huge template library. But pages are slow (3-5MB JavaScript per load) and there's zero export option. Your site is trapped.

Squarespace: $16-52/month. Gorgeous templates, cleaner code than Wix. The "export" gives you useless XML. Better design quality, same lock-in problem.

Webflow: $14-39/month hosting, plus workspace fees. Best for designers who want pixel control. Actually exports code, but only on paid workspace plans. Free users can't leave.

WordPress: Free software, $5-30/month hosting. Maximum flexibility, maximum responsibility. Plugin ecosystem is powerful and dangerous. Update religously or get hacked.

Framer: $5-30/month. Great animations, modern interface. No export whatsoever. Your Framer project exists only on Framer.
