About Webflow Pricing Export

Webflow's pricing page takes a PhD to understand. Two seperate pricing structures. Site plans. Workspace plans. Different tiers on each. Let me break it down.

Site plans are for hosting. Per website, per month:

Free: Webflow.io subdomain, Webflow branding, 1GB bandwidth. Unusable for anything serious. Basic at $14/month: Custom domain, no branding, 50GB bandwidth. CMS at $23/month: Adds their content management system, 2,000 CMS items. Business at $39/month: 10,000 CMS items, form file uploads, higher bandwidth.

Then there's Workspace plans. Completely separate. Per team, per month:

Starter: Free, very limited. Core at $19/month per seat: Code export unlocked, custom code, more projects. Growth at $49/month per seat: Publishing permissions, advanced roles, more of everything.

Here's where it gets ugly. Want to build a site with a custom domain and export the code? You need both. Basic site plan ($14) plus Core workspace ($19). That's $33/month. For one small website.

And seats multiply. Two people on your team? Double the workspace cost. Now you're at $52/month. Annual plans help, Core drops to $16/seat, but you're still paying hundreds per year.

The free tier is intentionally limited to push upgrades. Can't use your own domain. Can't remove their branding. Can't export code. Can't add custom code. Basicaly useless beyond testing.

Compare to old-school web hosting: $5/month gets you unlimited sites on shared hosting. $0/month on Netlify's free tier for static sites. Webflow charges 3-8x more and locks features behind multiple paywalls.

The value proposition works if you're an agency building many client sites and billing for it. Solo designer with a portfolio? You're overpaying.

Smart move: use Webflow as a design tool on the free plan. Export your site with our tool (free). Host the static files on Netlify (free). Same result, zero monthly fees. You lose CMS functionality but gain independence.

Webflow's great software. Their pricing is designed to extract maximum revenue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Webflow have two different pricing structures?

Site plans cover hosting for individual websites. Workspace plans cover team features and code export. You potentially pay both, $14+ for hosting AND $16+ for workspace features. It adds up fast.

Can I use Webflow completely free?

Yes, but with major limitations. Free sites display on a webflow.io subdomain, show Webflow branding, and you can't export code. For anything professional, you'll need to pay something.

What's the cheapest way to use Webflow?

Build on the free plan, then export your site using our tool (free) and host on Netlify or GitHub Pages (also free). Total cost: $0/month. You lose CMS features but keep the design.
