Export Squarespace to HTML

Squarespace runs $16 to $52 per month. That's up to $624 a year for hosting. For a restaurant menu site or photography portfolio, you're basically paying premium prices to display some text and images.

The frustrating part? Squarespace does have an export feature. But it spits out an XML file with your raw content, no design, no images, no styling. Completely useless if you actually want your site to look the same somewhere else.

We take a different approach. Load your Squarespace site in a browser, screenshot isn't quite the right word, but we capture the fully rendered pages. HTML, CSS, images, fonts, the whole package. What you get looks identical to what you had.

Works with any template, including heavily customized ones. We're not parsing Squarespace's code; we're just saving what the browser renders. If it looks right on Squarespace, it'll look right in the export.

After that, hosting is cheap. Or free. GitHub Pages costs nothing. Netlify's free tier handles most small sites. You could also throw it on any shared hosting for a few bucks a month.

One catch: scheduling, commerce, and member areas need server-side code. Those won't work. But most Squarespace sites are just content. Pages, blog posts, images. That exports perfectly.
