About Export Jimdo Export

Jimdo's been around since 2007. German company, pretty popular in Europe. They've got that simple website builder thing going on, pick a template, add your stuff, done. Works fine for basic sites.

Here's the problem: Jimdo doesn't let you take your site with you. There's no export button. No download option. Your website exists only on Jimdo's servers, built with their proprietary code. Want to leave? Start over somewhere else.

That's... not great. You built that site. Wrote the text. Uploaded the photos. But Jimdo treats it like rental property. Stop paying and it vanishes.

Our export tool fixes this. Enter your Jimdo URL and we'll grab everything. Every page, every image, all the styling. You get a ZIP file with clean HTML that works anywhere.

The process is straightforward. We load your site in a real browser, exactly like your visitors see it. Then we save the rendered output. No weird proprietary formats. Just HTML, CSS, and your images.

What can you do with the export? Pretty much anything. Host it on Netlify for free. Throw it on GitHub Pages. Upload to any cheap shared hosting. Or just keep it as a backup, something Jimdo doesn't offer.

Your exported site will actually load faster too. Jimdo pages carry overhead, analytics, their editor code, various scripts. Strip that away and you're left with lightweight files that load quick.

There are limits, obviously. Jimdo's contact forms won't work after export. Neither will their booking widgets or online store features. Static HTML means static. But for a portfolio, restaurant menu, or basic business site? Perfect.

One thing to know: Jimdo has two different editors. The older Jimdo Creator and the newer Jimdo Dolphin (AI-based). Our tool works with both. Doesn't matter which one you used to build your site.

The export includes your mobile version too. Well, sort of. Modern sites are responsive, they adjust to screen size automatically. Your exported HTML does the same thing.

Why do people leave Jimdo anyway? Usually it's the pricing. Their paid plans run $9 to $39 per month. Or they want features Jimdo doesn't have. Or they just want more control over their hosting.

Whatever your reason, don't lose your work. Export first, then decide where to go. Your content belongs to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I export my Jimdo site directly?

Nope. Jimdo doesn't offer any export feature. Your content is locked in their system. That's why third-party tools exist, to get your stuff out when Jimdo won't let you.

What happens to my images when I export?

All your images come with the export. We download everything, photos, logos, background images. They're organized in folders so you can actually find them later.

Will my Jimdo blog posts be included?

Yes. Every published blog post gets exported as its own HTML page. Same with your regular pages. Nothing gets left behind.

Do I need a paid Jimdo plan to export?

Doesn't matter what plan you're on. If your site is publicly accessible, we can export it. Free plan, paid plan, makes no difference.
