Adding a form is straightforward. In the editor, click Add Section. Find Contact or Form in the options. Drag it to your page.

GoDaddy's pre-built forms include common fields: name, email, phone, message. Good enough for a basic contact form. Click any field to edit its label or remove it.

To add fields, look for the Add Field option within the form section. You get text input, email, phone number, dropdown menus, checkboxes. Not exhaustive but covers most small business needs.

The important setting: where submissions go. Click the form settings and enter your email address. Every submission arrives in your inbox. No fancy dashboard, just email notifications.

Spam protection is automatic. GoDaddy adds reCAPTCHA or similar. You might see occasional spam slip through, but it catches most bots. No option to adjust sensitivity.

What you can customize: field labels, placeholder text, submit button text, success message. You can style the form to match your site, colors, fonts follow your theme.

What you can't do: conditional logic (show field B only if field A equals X), file uploads, payment collection, multi-step forms. These need third-party solutions.

Third-party alternatives work through embeds. Typeform, Jotform, Google Forms, create your form there, get the embed code, paste it in a GoDaddy HTML section. More features, slightly janky integration.

For lead capture specifically, GoDaddy integrates with their email marketing tools. Form submissions can auto-add to your contact list. Useful if you're already using GoDaddy's marketing suite. Otherwise, irrelevant.

Payment forms are a separate beast. GoDaddy has e-commerce plans with payment processing, but form-based payments need external tools. Stripe, PayPal, they offer embeddable payment forms. Or just link to a checkout page.

Mobile forms work automatically. GoDaddy's responsive design handles it. Fields stack vertically on small screens. No extra work needed.

Testing matters. Submit a test form before publishing. Verify emails arrive, check the format looks right, make sure required fields actually require input. Catching problems before launch beats fixing them after.

For most small business sites, GoDaddy's forms are adequate. Contact requests, quote inquiries, newsletter signups, all fine. Just don't expect power-user features.
