Export Free Website Hosting to HTML

Free website hosting exists. Real free, not "free trial" or "free with ads." You can host a website, with your own domain, with SSL, for $0 per month.

Here's what's available:

Netlify gives you 100GB bandwidth per month, custom domains, automatic SSL, and continuous deployment from Git. Their free tier handles most small business sites without breaking a sweat. I've seen sites with 50,000 monthly visitors run fine on it.

Vercel is similar. 100GB bandwidth, custom domains, SSL. It's particularly good for React sites, they created Next.js, but works great for any static HTML. Deploy in about 30 seconds.

GitHub Pages is the OG of free hosting. Been around forever, rock solid. Great for portfolios and documentation. Unlimited bandwidth technicaly, though they ask you to keep it reasonable.

Cloudflare Pages is the sleeper pick. Unlimited bandwidth on the free tier. Unlimited requests. They make money from their other services, so hosting is basically a loss leader. Take advantage.

So what's the catch?

Static files only. These platforms serve HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images. They don't run PHP. They don't have databases. They can't process payments or handle user logins natively.

For many sites, that's not actually a limitation. A restaurant menu doesn't need a database. A portfolio doesn't need PHP. A small business brochure site is just text and pictures. Static works.

The problem is getting static files in the first place. If your site runs on Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress, you can't just download it. Those platforms don't give you HTML files, they generate pages dynamically.

Performance is genuinely excellent. These aren't bargain-bin hosts cutting corners. Netlify and Cloudflare have CDNs that put your site on servers worldwide. Your pages load fast everywhere.

There are limits, of course. Netlify caps builds at 300 minutes per month on free tier. Vercel limits serverless function usage. But for a simple static site, you'll never hit these.

Stop paying $15 to $50 per month for hosting. If your site is mostly content, and most sites are, free hosting works perfectly. The catch isn't hidden fees. The catch is you need static HTML. We can help with that part.
