Export Download Wix Video to HTML

Videos on your Wix site don't have obvious download links. Wix serves them through their own player with no "save video" option visible.

Getting your videos back takes some work, or a tool that does the work for you.

When you export your site, we attempt to extract video content along with everything else. Video backgrounds, inline players, gallery videos. If it's playing on your page, we try to capture it.

How this works technically: Wix serves video through their CDN. When a page loads, the video player requests the actual file. We intercept those requests and save the video files. Straightforward in theory, though Wix makes it slightly tricky in practice.

A few scenarios to understand:

Videos you uploaded directly work best. You put them on Wix, Wix hosts them, we download them. These are the easiest to extract because they're actual files on Wix's servers.

YouTube and Vimeo embeds are different. Those aren't hosted on Wix, they're embedded players from another platform. The export keeps the embed code. To download those videos, you'd need to download from YouTube or Vimeo directly.

Wix Pro Gallery videos follow the same pattern as images. If they're Wix-hosted, we can grab them. If they're pulling from external sources, we capture what we can.

Background videos on hero sections export nicely. They're usually simpler, just a video file set to autoplay and loop. Those come through reliably.

Quality considerations: Wix often transcodes videos to multiple quality levels. You'll get the quality that loads for visitors, which depends on Wix's own optimization. If you uploaded 4K, you might get 1080p back. Keep your originals if quality matters.

One more thing, Wix Video Pro subscribers might have additional content types (channels, subscriptions) that work differently. Basic video embeds and backgrounds export; the fancier streaming features don't translate to static files.
