Export Carrd Alternative to HTML

Carrd is cheap. I'll give it that. $19/year for the basic Pro plan. But it's still a subscription for what amounts to a single webpage.

Here's the math that bugged me. Carrd Pro at $19/year for 5 years is $95. For a link-in-bio page or simple portfolio you set up once and forget. That money adds up for esentially nothing.

The free tier exists but slaps Carrd branding on your page. "Made with Carrd" in the corner. For a professional landing page, that's not great.

So what are the actual alternatives?

You could use Linktree. Same problem, free tier has their branding, paid tier is another subscription. About.me charges $8/month. These aren't really alternatives, they're lateral moves.

The real alternative is static HTML. Your Carrd site is already just HTML, CSS, and images. Export it and host those files anywhere. GitHub Pages is free. Netlify is free. Cloudflare Pages is free.

One catch: Carrd forms use their backend. After export, you'll need Formspree or Netlify Forms instead. Both have free tiers that handle contact forms fine.

For a landing page you'll update maybe twice a year, why rent? Export once, own forever.
