About Cancel Wix Subscription Export
Before you cancel, export your site.
This is important. Wix doesn't save your website when you stop paying. There's no archive. No download. No "restore later" option. Cancel your subscription and your site goes offline. Wait long enough and it's deleted entirely.
All those hours you spent building? Gone. Unless you export first.
Here's the frustrating part: Wix doesn't have an export button. You can't download your own website. They don't want you leaving. So you need an external tool, like ours, to save your work before you go.
Now, the cancellation process itself:
Log into Wix and click your profile picture in the top right. Go to "Premium Subscriptions" from the dropdown. Find the subscription you want to cancel. Click the three dots menu and select "Cancel Renewal" or "Cancel Plan."
Wix will try to keep you. They'll offer discounts, downgrades, "pause" options. If you're sure, decline and confirm cancellation.
Your site stays live until the current billing period ends. Paid through March 15th? Site works until March 15th. Then it stops. No warning, no grace period.
A few things to know:
Domains bought through Wix are separate from hosting. Your domain doesn't cancel automatically, you still own it. But you'll need to point it somewhere else or transfer to another registrar.
If you're within 14 days of purchase, you can request a refund. After that, refunds are rare. Annual plans especially, you're committed.
The Wix free plan exists, but it's not a useful fallback. Free sites show Wix ads, lose custom domains, and have strict limitations. Downgrading to free doesn't preserve your premium site.
